US: Model 1872 Indian Wars Artillery sword

US Officers model 1972 Artillery Officer's sword.  Used during the Indian War period and later made obsolete by the standarized Stall and Field officer sword.  Double panel etched blade   Made by L. M. Lichfield & Co, San Fran cisco, Cal as marked on the langet. Excellent blade.  Scabbard shows darkening from horse sweat during usage.  Sharkskin wire wrapped grip all intact.  Great display piece.
